Avid Eleven rack...

Post by sharpman » 21 Jul 2018, 09:54

Hey folks, just wondering if many have much experience with this rack. I borrowed one for the last album my band recorded and recorded 3 signals which was a clean DI, b7k, and Eleven rack on the SVT setting. In 15 years of recording it was the best my bass has sounded. I recently recorded an album and used a clean DI, b7k, and a Sansamp RBI. The bass is okay, but it doesn't sound as good as the previous album when I used the Eleven rack. Starting to wonder if I should be buying one, and if or how it could be incorporated into my live rig. Is anyone using 1 regularly in recording or live and what are your thoughts? Cheers

no experience with that unit, but just be aware that some Avid hardware only works with Pro Tools and vice versa, or at least that was the case a few years ago, I think. How's that for definitive advice ? hehe

I know a few guys that tour internationally and ALWAYS take their Eleven rack. Consistently good sound.

Guitar -> Eleven -> IEMs.

I’ve had great results with the Universal Audio Apollo and their Ampeg models - SVT-VR, 3Pro and B-15. I’ve got a SVT-VR, and they’ve nailed the tone recorded.
Bass: Sandberg, Dingwall, Sadowsky
Rig: Ampeg SVT-VR & PF-20T, Bergantino NV610T, Reference 322 & BAmp, Noble, Jule Monique
Pedals: Free The Tone, Darkglass, Eventide, Strymon, Tym, Wren & Cuff, Many others....
