Saw the 'Death Of Stalin' the other day. Great satire about the power vacuum left when Stalin dies, and the subsequent rush for leadership. It's a dark comedy with witty one liners depicting the absurd lengths people will go to, to achieve power. I laughed all the way through. Steve Buscemi plays one of the main leads and as usual is excellent. Right up my alley this one. I give it 4.5 stars.

For those into good head-f*k sci-fi... Check out Primer. Written and acted by a physicist and executed on a shoestring budget. A team of backyard physicists are trying to teleport objects but discover they're accidentally sending things back in time. So yes.... they scale it up.

Oldy but a goody, I like that film.

I went and saw the new Avenger : Infinity War.
I tried to avoid all trailers and spoilers etc. before I went to see it, and I'm glad I did.
If you're a marvel fanboy (or girl) you'll love it.

Saw a film called the Greasy Strangler, after a tip from a mate.
Don't do it, it's a creepy horror that will linger on your mind and have you quoting bad lines from it.
Anyone remember Bad Boy Bubby? Yeah, that kind of off.....

I'm STILL drinking heavily to try and forget that movie, but the eyes can't unsee what they have seen :)

American Made (2017). Entertaining exposé on drug trafficking, arms dealing, and the Iran-Contra Affair in the 80's. If you liked The Big Short and Gold then you'll love this.

anyone seen Bohemian Rhapsody yet?

Post by BazzBass » 06 Nov 2018, 14:52

anyone seen Bohemian Rhapsody yet?

the concert footage is supposed to be pretty realistic (although mimed) and they recreate the Live Aid performance in it's entirety.

In two minds about this one, it SHOULD be authentic as May and Taylor are involved, but maybe they are seeing it through rose coloured glasses.

Of note is that John Deacon is not involved, as usual, the bassist has the highest morals......

Yep, thought it was a great movie. Chronologically a little bit out here and there (so I'm told... the wife's been a member of the Queen fan club since '73 so knows her stuff)
The lead did a fantastic job of Freddie and the guy playing Brian May was spookily like him in parts.
I'd go again.

The missus and I are planning to go and see Bohem Rap one weekend soon - it's getting very good press.

First Man is brilliant too - the test aircraft and Saturn V take off sequences are amazing for showing the enormous size of those guys' balls.
