I think I am a bit addicted to these vids......I have many faves which include the following and are mainly music related :-

Music as a Language: Victor Wooten at TEDxGabriolaIsland

My Life As A One-Man Band | Tommy Emmanuel | TEDxMelbourne

Music as a window into the Autistic mind | Jonathan Chase | TEDxSalem

Overcoming hopelessness | Nick Vujicic | TEDxNoviSad
I totally respect and admire Tommy and Victor as immensely talented musicians and visionaries for their instrument. But I dunno, those sorts of vids just feel like a chance to wow people with their chops (which is fine by me, but seems at odds with the format). I had a similar experience watching Eddie Van Halen's TED talk. In a similar vein, Magnus Walker (the outlaw Porsche guru) did a talk about 'Going with your gut'. It was just an exercise in talking about his business success. Which was as much about being at the right place at the right time as his gut. It left me cold, because it seemed to me like they only asked him to speak because he was a celebrity and a success.

The more techy or well thought out stuff is a lot more helpful to everyone.
