Walking.. That's a great way to move. Someone put me onto this web page…

http://michaelmoore.com/walk-with-mike/why-i-walk

I like the way he simplifies… 'going for a walk'. A refreshing POV.

60 minutes soccer game in the morning (8.30am). Basketball game tonight... A bit out of puff yesterday, probably it was too hot.

Interesting graph. It's based on US data but is indicative of all countries with western diet and medicine.

With the advent of antibiotics, it's no surprise deaths from infections diseases are way down. But look at the massive increase in deaths from heart disease and cancer!

Even more shocking when you think of how some of these diseases tend to cluster into Metabolic Syndrome. How many of those who died from heart disease and cancer were also type 2 diabetics? The answer in "most of them! "

I imagine it may not have been easy to diagnose some forms of cancer in 1900 though

The ancient Egyptians documented cancer. Don't be fooled into thinking cancer was in its infancy in 1900. Oncologists first appeared in the 1800's. Cardiologists on the other hand didn't appear until the 1950's. But that's a bit different given heart attacks are more obvious than some cancers.....

The small gym in our building scored some more weight plates last week, so now I can get back to deadlifting some decent loads. Yesterday's deadlift session felt like catching up with an old friend I hadn't seen for years - it's always been my favourite strength training exercise.
