There is one knob, which I assume adjusts the level of compression, so you can vary that on the fly. The presets vary the colour/tone or whatever to your sound. I have one and I just set and forget.

None simpler than the TC spectracomp. I found it very useful for quick and easy dialling in on two of their amps, the pedal should do the same in theory. And it’s tiny!
