As the tile says, is this also apply on used items? i.e. basses?

Commercial goods, so yes used basses, but as I understand it only if it's from a commercial operation (that turns over $75k plus per annum) or something silly like that.

I've been hit twice by shipito who collect GST on everything. I suspect as they are known by customs here and don't want any hassle with their business model of reshipping.

Damn it! That's exactly what I want to do. But I thought customs just gonna collect the GST from the importer?

That would be too easy/make too much sense.

Shipito let you fill out the customs dec but I’ve been honest that it’s not a gift. Low value goods and not worth the hassle.

Some say if you quote an ABN they waive it. I haven’t seen that option with shipito yet.

In Shipito, you go to "Your Shipping and Billing Addresses" and click to edit you address and then add your ABN to your Australian shipping address in the field "Tax ID"
