The BigHead has become integral to my practice since I got it a few years ago. BassLine’s point about being less fatiguing to the ears nails it, and the way the headphone amp section brings external audio files to life is simply fantastic.
It’s on special at Bass Strings Online at the moment at $249.99 + postage here: http://www.bassstringsonline.com/Phil-J ... _3166.html which is a pretty sharp price.
Converted to AUD that still comes to at least $375 with basic postage, not even factoring in GST etc.

I'm interested if the group buy works out better $ wise. Although the Q502 does the same job, when I travel having a headphone amp, ADC into a DAW and PJB charge from the laptop is perfect. Will Eastgate do a group buy?
You can definitely try giving Marcello at Eastgate a call. The wait was quite long though....one to two months, which usually means three.

I might give the mini mixer option a go for now.

Have you tried Take 5 Music in Geelong? They happen to be the PJ distributor.

Yeah, I did see that. It's a bit of a strange web site, and no pricing as far as I can tell. I might give them a call and see what the deal is.

Ok interesting development today. I'll send a PM shortly to those in this thread who seemed interested in a group buy.

If you haven't previously expressed an interest, but are interested, PM me and I'll send you some info.

Cheers..

To a few of the interstate late comers, the seller won't ship so units need to be picked up from Geelong. If you can do that then I'm sure he has enough units in stock.

I'm picking up a few on the weekend but can't manage interstate shipping this time around. I'm happy to try to pick up extra units from Geelong if it can subsequently be picked up from my place in Mulgrave as I don't have time to travel around the state.

If anyone feels they have missed out unfairly, I can always speak to the seller on the weekend to see if he can do another round.

I'm at a loose end still and have time to go for a drive or two if that helps. If you interstaters get organised with Ivan and set up a single pick up I can then go get them and post them to you if that helps.

Ivan, I am closer to Geelong that you are so if you want I can get the first batch Monday and take them to MSGM on Tuesday night and save you the trip or bring them to you Monday night.

Anyone thinking of picking up one of these up i'd highly recommend Pino at Take 5 music!!

Not only that, it is the perfect practice tool, has every feature you could want and can even be used as an interface into your DAW!!! No it won't replace my U5 DI or other preamps but for on the go recording it's awesome!!!

Thanks to Ivan for organising a local buy as well!!!

Not a problem at all Barney. Anything that's conducive to more practice time has got to be a good thing. I'm finding the unit really practical. I can practice to backing tracks at low volume, anywhere in the house, and it sounds terrific.

No need to go out into the cold music room during winter :)
