Hi - anyone tried/own one of these? They look pretty nice on the spec sheet, interested how they go in the flesh.

Tried a 4 and 5 in store the other day, extremely impressed, so much so I've sold my yamaha to buy a 5er, quite light, very well balanced, the combination of the 3 band eq with passive tone control is very flexible, the neck shape it quite similar to my warwick Corvette 5er, large D but not as thick

That fretless at the start of the video sounds awesome.

I noticed that Bass Centre have a blackwood 4 sting for $2,500. That's pretty reasonable for a neck through of this quality.

Ooooooweee  This gives me gas. :help

So what's the deal? What strings does it come with? What's the radius? 18v I assume. There doesn't seem to be much information of the specs, prices, different models etc. Lots of talk on various options but nothing really specific. Early days I guess. Would the shape restrict options for a hard case? There looks to be some excess room at the head of the bass with the gig bag. Starting to ramble now.

I've only found three places selling these at the moment, and all seem to be discounting the rrp quite considerably. Is this just temporary, like a pre-order thing?

From what I can tell, d'addario nyxl's, neck shape is very similar to my warwick Corvette 5 just a bit smaller, Aguilar opb-3 18v system with active/passive switching and mid frequency switch, the passive control works in active mode too, bunya body, blackwood top, Queensland maple neck through, river sheoak fingerboard, quite small frets, Grover tuners, string through body and bridges, the finish is extraordinarily thin, there is a different top wood with stained color bursts available too, the first run are being discounted quite handsomely just to help get the out there, first shipment was only of 100, the 5er retails for 3300, the gator gigbag it comes with is pretty damm good.

I'm gonna put a set of my super light daddarios on it give it a setup to my liking and I'll do some recording with it

That looks terrific Heath. A lot of thought has gone into designing this bass which seems to have all the right features. The only thing I'm unsure about is that ultra thin looking finish. The rest however, no complaints at all and very sweet indeed....in all respects

By the way, my old Maton MGB4 is also #16.

Dammit, that looks fantastic, gah hehehe. What's the truss rod adjustment? In the photo it looks like an allen key?

I mucked around with the 4 string in the shop on the weekend. It looks better in the flesh and is very versatile and easy to play. If I had the cash ...
